TV Mounting

TV Mounting in Houston

A mounted TV should sit level, at the right height, and hold securely in whatever the wall is actually made of. That last part is where most of the work is.

What the job involves

Before anything goes on the wall we work out what the wall is — stud spacing on drywall, solid masonry, or a veneer over framing. That decides the anchors and often the bracket. A mount rated for the TV means little if the fasteners are wrong for the substrate.

From there it's height and sightline. Seated eye level is the usual starting point, and above a fireplace almost always calls for a tilting bracket so the screen angles down toward the seating rather than at the ceiling.

Common situations

  • A new TV that needs to go up this week
  • Moving an existing TV to a different wall or room
  • Mounting above a fireplace, where height and tilt matter most
  • Brick or stone walls that need masonry anchors
  • Replacing a bracket that was never rated for the TV on it
  • A TV plus a soundbar, shelf, or streaming box in the same visit

Surfaces we mount on

  • Drywall over wood or metal studs
  • Brick
  • Stacked stone and stone veneer
  • Tile
  • Plaster
  • Above fireplaces, with a tilting bracket

Using your own mount

Most customers buy their own mount, and that's completely fine. Send a photo or the model number of both the TV and the bracket and we can confirm the pairing works before scheduling — including whether the VESA pattern matches and the weight rating is right.

What affects pricing

TV size and weight, the wall type, mounting height, the bracket style, and how the cables are handled. Masonry takes longer than drywall. Above a fireplace usually takes longer than a flat wall at standard height. Photos of the wall and the TV are normally enough for a price.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish

01

Call, text, or send photos

Tell us what needs doing. Photos of the wall, fixture, or item help a lot.

02

Get pricing or next steps

We review the details and come back with pricing or what we still need to know.

03

Schedule the project

Pick a time that works. Several small projects can often share one visit.

04

Work completed and area cleaned

Work checked before we leave, packaging removed, and the work area cleaned up.

Many projects can be quoted from photos. If an on-site evaluation is needed, any applicable service or consultation fee will be discussed before scheduling.

Questions

TV mounting questions

Can you mount a TV on brick or stone?

Yes. Brick, stacked stone, and stone veneer are all normal for us. Masonry needs different anchors than drywall, and we bring hardware suited to the wall rather than whatever came in the mount's box.

Can you mount a TV above a fireplace?

Yes, and it's one of our most common requests. We use a tilting bracket so the screen angles down toward the seating. Send a photo of the fireplace and we can tell you what the wall allows.

Do you supply the mount, or should I buy one?

Either works. Most customers buy their own. Send the model number of the TV and the mount and we'll confirm the VESA pattern and weight rating match before scheduling.

What height should my TV be mounted at?

Seated eye level is the usual starting point for a living room. Above a fireplace the height is set by the mantel and firebox, which is exactly why a tilt bracket matters there. We'll talk it through on site before anything is drilled.

Can you hide the cables?

We manage cables so the installation looks finished, and we'll go over the options for your specific wall when we see it. What's possible depends on the wall construction and what's behind it, so we confirm in person rather than promising a particular method in advance.

Can you mount the TV and set up a soundbar at the same time?

Yes. Bundling a soundbar, shelf, or streaming device into the same visit is common and usually makes better use of the time. Send the full list when you text.
