Light Fixture & Chandelier Installation in Houston

Swapping a fixture changes a room more than almost anything else you can do in an afternoon. The trick is getting it centered, level, and at the right height.

What the job involves

Most fixture work is a replacement: the old one comes down, the box gets checked, and the new fixture goes up. Weight matters here — a heavy chandelier needs a box rated to carry it, and not every existing box is.

Then it's placement. A dining chandelier wants to be centered over the table rather than over the room, and those two points are frequently not the same. Vanity lights and pendants have their own conventions for height above the counter.

Common situations

  • Replacing a dated fixture with something new
  • Hanging a dining room chandelier over the table
  • Pendant lights above a kitchen island
  • Vanity and mirror lighting in a bathroom or powder room
  • Flush and semi-flush mounts in hallways and bedrooms
  • A fixture that arrived from an online order and needs assembly first

Fixture types we install

  • Chandeliers, including multi-tier
  • Pendant lights, single or in a run
  • Flush and semi-flush ceiling mounts
  • Vanity and mirror lights
  • Wall sconces
  • Entryway and stairwell fixtures

Using your own fixture

Customer-supplied fixtures are the norm. Buy the one you want and we'll install it. If it's heavy or unusually large, send a photo or a link before scheduling so we can check that the existing box will carry it — that's the one detail worth confirming in advance.

What affects pricing

Ceiling height, fixture weight and size, how much assembly the fixture needs out of the box, and whether the existing box and wiring are ready to accept it. A tall entryway or stairwell takes longer than a standard bedroom ceiling. Photos of the existing fixture and the new one are usually enough.

Many projects can be quoted from photos. If an on-site evaluation is needed, any applicable service or consultation fee will be discussed before scheduling.

Questions

Lighting questions

Can you install a chandelier I bought online?

Yes, that's the usual arrangement. Many arrive needing assembly before they go up, which we handle. If it's a heavy or large piece, send a photo or link first so we can check the existing box will support it.

Can you hang a chandelier in a high entryway or over a stairwell?

Often yes, depending on the height and what access allows. Send a photo that shows the full height of the space and we'll tell you whether it's something we can take on.

How high should a dining room chandelier hang?

It depends on ceiling height and table size, and it should be centered on the table rather than the room. We'll set the drop with you on site before it's fixed in place.

Can you replace a fixture with a ceiling fan instead?

Yes — that's a common swap and it's covered on our ceiling fan page. The box rating matters more for a fan than a light, so it gets checked either way.

Do you take the old fixture away?

Yes. The old fixture comes down and goes with us, along with the packaging from the new one.

Can you install several fixtures in one visit?

Yes, and it's usually the efficient way to do it. Send the full list and photos so we can plan the visit.
