Picture & Mirror Hanging
Picture & Mirror Hanging in Houston
Heavy mirrors and framed art are the two things people most often don't want to hang themselves — and the two where a failed anchor does the most damage.
Send us a few photos for fast pricing.
What the job involves
Weight and wall type decide the hardware. A heavy mirror on drywall needs to find framing or use anchors genuinely rated for the load, and the difference between an anchor that holds and one that eventually lets go is not visible once the piece is on the wall.
The rest is placement. Height relative to furniture, centering on a vanity or a sofa rather than the wall itself, and even spacing across a group. We measure and mark before anything is drilled, so you can see it first.
Common situations
- A heavy mirror above a vanity, console, or mantel
- Framed artwork that came with no hanging hardware
- A gallery wall that needs even spacing and alignment
- Hanging on tile, plaster, or masonry rather than plain drywall
- Rehanging after painting or moving house
- Several pieces across a few rooms in a single visit
Walls we hang on
- Drywall over wood or metal studs
- Plaster and lath
- Tile
- Brick and stone
- Concrete and block
- Wood paneling
Using your own hardware
Bring the piece and we'll bring the hardware suited to your wall. If your mirror or frame came with its own hanging kit, keep it — we'll use it if it's right for the weight and the wall, and substitute something appropriate if it isn't.
What affects pricing
Size and weight of the piece, the wall material, how many items are going up, and whether the arrangement needs layout work such as a gallery wall. A single frame on drywall is quick. A heavy mirror on tile takes longer. Photos of the piece and the wall are usually enough.

Questions
Hanging questions
How heavy a mirror can you hang?
Heavy mirrors are routine. What matters is matching the anchoring to the weight and the wall — finding framing where we can, and using properly rated hardware where we can't. Send a photo and the rough weight and we'll tell you what it needs.
Can you hang a mirror on tile?
Yes. Tile needs the right bit and a careful approach to avoid cracking, which is a large part of why people would rather not do it themselves.
Can you lay out a gallery wall?
Yes. We measure and mark the arrangement first so you can see the spacing and adjust before any holes are drilled.
Will you help decide the height?
Yes. Standard practice puts artwork around eye level, but furniture, vanities, and mantels change that. We'll mark it and check it with you before it goes up.
What if my frame has no hanging hardware?
We carry hardware for most common situations and will fit what suits the piece and the wall.
Can you hang several pieces in one visit?
Yes, and grouping them is usually the efficient way to do it. Send the list and photos so we can plan the visit.
